Hello! I’m so glad you are here. My name is Isabelle Witteveen and I’m from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am a senior in high school and have decided to take a gap year next year. I felt called to participate in a Missions program and this is exactly where God has lead me. I’m beyond excited to say that I will be traveling to South Africa, Manzini Eswatini, and Malealea Valley Lesotho where I will be spending one month in each of these beautiful places being the hands and feet of Jesus.
My love for missions started when I was 8 years old. My mom read to me “Kisses From Katie” by Katie Davis. (I still highly recommend this book!) The story follows a women who took a leap of faith and moved to Uganda to do mission work. I fell in love with this book and ever since then I felt my own calling in my heart that I would be going to Africa. That calling clearly never went away, because here we are.
I would love it if you started praying over this trip now!! I can’t imagine what God will do when people are praying over this experience 8 months in advance. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will start moving through the places that my squad and I will be sent to and that the Holy Spirit will start moving through each and everyone of us so that we may carry out what Jesus has already planned for us.
