Hello from Jeffery’s Bay, South Africa!

My team finally made it after a full two days of travel. It took a total of four flights, and not a lot of sleep to get here. Training camp was an amazing experience full of worship, getting to know the other fourteen ladies that are here with me, and most importantly getting to know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit on a deeper level.

The team and I are staying on the property of Global Leadership Academy in J Bay. It’s beautiful property that has a school, six houses, a play ground, garden and a field. If you look out one window you will see mountains and if you look the other way you’ll see the ocean. God’s hand is so clearly evident in this atmosphere we are in whether that’s the school, our team or the nature that surrounds us.

The house we’re staying at is the log house with the four windows and the white van in front of it. The school is to the right.

God has already started doing work on my heart by constantly showing me who He truly is so that I can completely trust and lean in Him. He is faithful, merciful, and just. There is no darkness in Him. It has been my prayer that He would start working on my heart right away and He is answering that prayer.

I know it’s only been eight days since meeting Tina, Sarah, Mickie, Jasmine, Mason, Katie, Lexy, Tiffany, Hannah, Nicole, Olivia, Liv, Allie, and Autumn but I have such a love for these girls already. God’s family truly does bring unity. We’ve quickly gone from strangers to sisters. We have come from all over the United States in all different stages of life and can come together in harmony because we all have one thing in common, which is that Jesus Christ is our King. It’s a beautiful thing to be apart of.

Slowly but surely I am picking up on some phrases and differences in South African culture. One phrase that we’ve learned is called “buyadonkey” that is most definitely not how it’s spelled, but that how it sounds. It means “thank you very much”.

Please continue covering us in prayer. My team starts ministry tomorrow on Monday. Pray that we will be the salt and the light of the earth, that we would continue building each other up so well, and that we continue deepening our relationship with God and each other.

Buyadonkey, Jesus.
